Jharkhand government has issued a statewide health alert following the death of at least four malaria patients in the East Singhbhum district. The State Government has directed all Deputy Commissioners to take immediate measures to prevent the spread of vector-borne diseases. The Health Department has instructed officials to conduct fever surveys in affected areas, ensure rapid malaria testing, provide prompt treatment, and admit seriously ill patients to hospitals without delay.
Health workers in high-risk villages will be supplied with rapid diagnostic test kits and anti-malarial medicines, while insecticide spraying and fogging drives will be intensified. The government has also introduced a three-tier review mechanism and directed district authorities to closely monitor the situation while launching public awareness campaigns to prevent further spread of the disease.
