Jharkhand govt had not taken adequate steps to address students concerns: Union Minister Sanjay Seth

Union Minister Sanjay Seth said that the Jharkhand government had not taken adequate steps to address the students’ concerns despite the prolonged agitation.

Talking to the media at Parliament premises, Mr Seth said Rahul Gandhi responded to the issue through a video message only after the students’ protest had continued for over two weeks. The Union Minister said the protesting aspirants are demanding a CBI inquiry, an Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation, and cancellation of the examinations.

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has demanded a transparent inquiry into the alleged irregularities in recruitment conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).

Speaking to Reporters at Parliament premises, Mr Dubey alleged that relatives of leaders from the Congress, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) had secured jobs during the past seven to eight years. Mr Dubey further said that many families had suffered financial hardship while seeking employment opportunities in the state.
