The Jharkhand unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party today launched its ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ foot march campaign today in Ranchi. The march, led by State BJP President Aditya Sahu, was attended by Union Minister Jual Oram, National Organising General Secretary and State in-charge Gajendra Singh Patel, Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, former Chief Minister Arjun Munda and other senior party leaders and workers. The march proceeded from Bapu Vatika through the SSP residence and Kachahari Chowk to the Bhagwan Birsa Munda Memorial Park at Jail More.
During the march, State BJP President Aditya Sahu accused the Congress of questioning the electoral process and constitutional institutions out of concern over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity. State in-charge Gajendra Singh Patel described the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process as transparent and alleged that the Congress was attempting to mislead people about it.
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi and former Chief Minister Arjun Munda accused the Congress and the INDIA alliance of creating an atmosphere of anarchy in the country. BJP leaders also criticised the Hemant Soren government in Jharkhand over law and order, women’s safety and administrative failures. The BJP will organise foot marches in two phases up to November 5, covering various districts, including Giridih, Hazaribagh, Palamu, Jamshedpur and Dumka, at the Assembly constituency level.
