In Para Badminton, Tokyo Paralympic gold medallist Pramod Bhagat secured gold medal in the men’s singles SL3 category and teamed up with Sukant Kadam to win silver in the men’s doubles SL3-SU5 at the Japan International today. The six-time world champion, Bhagat produced a dominant performance in the singles final, defeating fellow Indian, Umesh Kumar 21-16, 21-8 to clinch the top honour. Bhagat then partnered Kadam in the men’s doubles SL3-SU5 category final, where the Indian pair went down 5-21, 15-21 to Indonesia’s Hikmat Ramdani and Fredy Setiawan, settling for silver. The tournament was particularly special for Kadam, who took his career medal tally to 100 over 12 years of competitive badminton.
