The Jammu Railway Division of Northern Railways has strengthened security and crowd management arrangements at major railway stations, particularly Jammu Tawi, ahead of Diwali and Chhath Puja to manage the expected passenger rush.

Additional ticket-checking staff, Railway Protection Force personnel, Government Railway Police personnel, and scouts and guides have been deployed. CCTV surveillance and 24-hour control rooms have also been activated to ensure smooth and safe movement of passengers.

Divisional Commissioner Jammu Vikas Kundal and IGP Jammu Tejinder Singh reviewed the arrangements and directed the departments concerned to maintain close coordination and ensure adequate security, traffic management and public facilities during the festive rush. Kundal also stressed the need for a visible administrative presence and prompt resolution of public grievances.
