In the latest national Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan ranking, the winter capital city of J&K Union Territory, Jammu, has climbed to 20th rank in the category-II (cities with population between 3 lakh and 10 lakh). Jammu has improved its ranking by 18 places since 2023 and two places over the past year.
Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the Central Pollution Control Broad (CPCB) score of Jammu has improved from 102.8 in 2023 to 168.2 in 2025 and 176.5 in 2026. The 2026 results also recognised three Jammu wards under the state-level awards. Greater Kailash Ward 68 was listed under Category-I, New Plot Ward 16 under Category-II and Bhagwati Nagar Ward 14 under Category-III.
