The Met Dept said Jammu and Kashmir is likely to experience generally hot and humid weather today, with light to moderate rain and thundershowers expected at many places. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the MeT department said brief spells of intense heavy showers are likely, particularly in the Jammu division during the early morning and late afternoon or evening hours. It advised people to remain cautious, as brief intense showers at localised places may trigger flash floods, mudslides and landslides during September 1-2.

For September 2 to 10, the Meteorological Department (Met Dept) has forecast generally dry weather, with brief spells of rain and thundershowers at isolated to scattered places, mainly during the early morning and afternoon hours. The farmers have been advised to continue harvesting and other agricultural operations while exercising caution during periods of intense rainfall. Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 28.9 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 16 degrees Celsius during the past 24 hours. However, Jammu recorded a maximum temperature of 33.4 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 25.4 degrees.
