The Indian Universities and Institutions Network for Disaster Risk Reduction (IUINDRR) organized a special program to observe International Women’s Day in New Delhi on Friday. During the inaugural session, Executive Director of the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM), Rajendra Ratnoo emphasized on women’s leadership in every aspect and the initiative taken by NIDM.

The event was based on the theme ‘Women’s Leadership in Disaster Risk Reduction’. The program included the release of a compendium on the best practices of Women’s Leadership in Disaster Risk Reduction. Aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Ten-Point Agenda on Disaster Risk Reduction, IUINDRR aims to utilize the expertise of higher education institutes, including IITs and IIMs, to drive innovation in DRR and enhance the resilience of at-risk communities. The program aimed to foster collaboration between higher education institutes and policymakers for the advancement of DRR in higher education.
