The government today said it is maintaining 1,658 old age homes across the country, and a total of 321 crore 97 lakh rupees have been disbursed to these homes. Addressing a news conference in Puducherry, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale said Puducherry has five old age homes for which an amount of 51 lakh rupees was disbursed. The Ministry has taken care of welfare of 2 crores 67 lakhs divyangjan across the country. Mr. Athawale informed that all the welfare schemes were implemented for all the people of India, and no one was left in terms of religion or caste.
