Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called for strengthening ties with India, Latin American nations and other countries, warning that a future US president could adopt a hostile approach towards Israel.
Presenting his security doctrine yesterday, nine days ahead of Israel’s October 27 election, Netanyahu said Israel must use the remaining years of US President Donald Trump’s presidency to strengthen bilateral ties while building alternative international partnerships. Trump endorsed Netanyahu’s re-election bid earlier the same day.
Netanyahu cited India as an important partner and pointed to potential political changes in Latin America, including Brazil, as opportunities to expand Israel’s network of allies. He stressed the need to develop capabilities that would make Israel valuable to countries worldwide.
