Iran’s Acting Defence Minister, Brigadier General Seyyed Majid Ibn al-Reza, has said Tehran treats every threat from its adversaries as real and uses such threats to strengthen its military preparedness and defence capabilities.

 

His remarks came after US President Donald Trump claimed that the United States had postponed a planned military strike on Iran after Tehran and several West Asian countries requested a pause to allow diplomacy to proceed, saying a possible framework for an agreement had emerged. In a social media post, Mr. Trump said the US remained prepared for military action but had decided to give diplomatic efforts more time.

 

However, Iranian state media rejected Mr. Trump’s claim, saying Tehran had not requested any pause in military action and describing his statement as false.

 

Earlier, President Trump threatened to intensify military action against Iran, warning that American strikes will continue until Tehran halts attacks on shipping and returns to negotiations. United States has also urged its citizens across the West Asia to remain alert and be prepared to leave if tensions escalate. Meanwhile, Iran warned that it is ready to strike key Israeli infrastructure and American energy facilities across the West Asia if it comes under attack.
