The Inter-Ministerial Group, chaired by the Secretary of the Department of Public Enterprises and co-chaired by the Secretary of the Department of Telecommunications, has recommended asset monetisation proposals involving assets valued at over 1,100 crore rupees for consideration and approval by the Alternative Mechanism.
The proposals primarily relate to surplus land and building assets of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) identified for monetisation. The Finance Ministry said the recommendations reflect the Government’s efforts to unlock value from surplus and underutilised public assets and facilitate their productive utilisation.
The Ministry noted that the recommended proposals would be placed before the Cabinet-delegated Alternative Mechanism for consideration and approval. It added that, following the requisite approvals, further monetisation activities would be undertaken in accordance with prescribed procedures.
