Indian Navy ship INS Trishul has arrived at Plymouth in the United Kingdom to participate in the India-UK bilateral maritime exercise KONKAN-26 with the Royal Navy.
The Ministry of Defence said the exercise is being conducted off Plymouth in two phases till Thursday. Over the past two decades, KONKAN has evolved significantly in scale and complexity, enhancing interoperability and mutual understanding between the two Navies.
The Ministry said the exercise reaffirms the shared commitment of India and the UK to ensuring secure, open and free seas. It also reflects the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership outlined in the India-UK Vision 2035. It added that through the exchange of best practices and enhanced operational cooperation, KONKAN-26 aims to strengthen the ability of both Navies to operate seamlessly in complex maritime scenarios, reinforcing their enduring partnership and shared commitment to maritime peace and security.
