Inflows into Indian equity mutual funds rises nearly 19% in August

Inflows into Indian equity mutual funds rose nearly 19 per cent to 29,329 crore rupees in August, compared with 24,697 crore rupees in July. According to data released by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) contributions reached a record high of 32,297 crore rupees in August.
 
Among the equity fund categories, Small-cap funds attracted the highest inflows in July, garnering nearly 8 thousand crore rupees. They were followed by Mid-cap funds, flexi-cap funds, and Multi-cap funds. However, large-cap and Equity Linked Savings Scheme (ELSS) funds recorded net outflows of over 1,000 crore rupees during the period. 
 
The Gold Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) inflow jumped significantly by 66.6 per cent last month on a sequential basis. The industry body data showed that the inflows in Gold ETFs remained positive for the third consecutive month. At the same time, the trend reversed in debt funds, which witnessed net outflows of 8 thousand 127 crore rupees last month, compared with the strong inflows of 1.87 lakh crore rupees recorded in July.
