Indian Railways Approves Daily Itarsi-Madan Mahal Passenger Train

Indian Railways has approved the introduction of the daily Train Itarsi-Madan Mahal Passenger, aimed at strengthening rail connectivity across central Madhya Pradesh. The daily passenger service will cover a distance of 242 kilometers in approximately five hours and five minutes. The train will have commercial stoppages at Bagra Tawa, Sohagpur, and other stations.

The Ministry of Railways said that the service provides affordable and daily access to the intermediate towns and smaller stations of the Jabalpur-Narmadapuram belt, while connecting two major railway nodes, Jabalpur and Itarsi.

The Ministry added that the service is expected to enhance regional connectivity, facilitate convenient and affordable travel for daily commuters and other passengers.

In another move, the Railways has also approved the merger of Chitrakutdham Karwi-Kanpur Central Express and Maa Belha Devi Dham Pratapgarh-Kanpur Central Express as Maa Belha Devi Dham Pratapgarh-Chitrakutdham Karwi Express. The merger enables augmentation of the train composition from twelve to twenty-four coaches, addressing overcrowding and passenger demand on the Kanpur-Pratapgarh section. The Ministry further said that the service will strengthen passenger connectivity across Uttar Pradesh, improve accessibility to important religious and cultural destinations and support more efficient utilisation of railway resources.
