Indian Port Association extends help of five cr to flood-hit Assam

 
The Indian Ports Association extends five crore in assistance for Assam flood relief. The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways informed that senior officials of the Indian Ports Association, Sushil Kumar Singh and Vikas Narwale, met Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati today and handed over the contribution. Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal said that this contribution is a meaningful step towards the Union Government’s broader efforts to support Assam and stand with the country’s people during this difficult time. He added that the assistance is expected to support relief and rehabilitation efforts for flood-affected people across the state.
