Indian participants at CWG 2026 to wear  jute-viscose blended apparel 

The Ministry of Textiles today stated that the National Jute Board has developed jute-viscose blended apparel that will be worn by the Indian athletes and team members participating in the Commonwealth Games 2026. This initiative is aimed at promoting sustainable textiles and showcasing India’s innovation in natural fibres.The Ministry said that the initiative highlighted the potential of 100 percent biodegradable jute-viscose blended fabric as a sustainable and innovative textile solution.  The official Kit Unveiling and Send-off Ceremony for the Commonwealth Games 2026 was held in New Delhi today which was attended by the Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse.
