Indian-origin doctor sets world record for doing the longest-distance robotic telesurgery

An Indian-origin cardiac surgeon Dr. Sudhir Srivastava sets a world record by performing the longest distance robotic telesurgery from Guyana in India by using Made-in-India surgical robotic system technology. The world’s longest-distance robotic cardiac telesurgery sets a new global benchmark in medical innovation. The tele-surgery was remotely conducted between Georgetown Public Hospital in Guyana and IRCAD India in Indore. The surgical teams collaborated seamlessly and robotic telesurgery was completed in four hours and 50 minutes. Speaking to media, Dr. Sudhir Srivastava said that under this process, the patient recovers fast and it also reduces the cost of surgery.
