Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia has highlighted India’s transformation from expanding digital connectivity to developing indigenous technologies and strengthening its position in the global telecommunications ecosystem.
Interacting with the media during India Mobile Congress, the Minister said that the next phase of India’s telecom journey will focus on designing, developing and manufacturing technologies in India for domestic and international markets, with closer collaboration between the Government and industry. The Minister underlined that while the last decade was marked by the expansion of digital connectivity, the next must focus on building indigenous technological capabilities, accelerating the deployment of innovations and expanding the global reach of Indian products.
Mr Scindia further added that India’s telecom transformation has advanced across three key areas, expanding connectivity, developing indigenous technological capabilities and strengthening domestic manufacturing capacity.
