The spokesperson further informed that India has expressed grief at the loss of lives due to a massive earthquake in Indonesia. , India is deeply saddened by this tragedy and convey its condolences on the precious lives lost. He said, India also pray for the early recovery of those who are injured and for the safety of people who are involved in rescue and relief efforts. Mr Jaiswal said, in this difficult hour, India stands in solidarity with Indonesia. He said, New Delhi remain committed to extending whatever possible assistance it can support of relief and rescue efforts.
On the reports of India receiving energy requests from Bangladesh, Mr Jaiswal said, India has an ongoing energy cooperation with Bangladesh. He said, as far as the additional request is concerned, New Delhi is examining this, given its own requirements, refining capacity, as well as the availability on its side. On a query on development cooperation, the Spokesperson said, India desires positive, constructive and forward-looking relations with Bangladesh based on mutual interests and reciprocity.
On Pakistan’s reaction to India’s claims over Shahzad Bhatti terror network, Mr Jaiswal said, the Government of India has put forth this position, and that is where it stands. He said, on terrorism matters, these are very serious things and India take it very seriously. The Spokesperson said, India wants the global community to understand the gravity of such actions. He said, India has been hit hard by terrorism.
