India-Lesotho sporting ties are reaching new heights: Union Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya

Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, emphasised that the India-Lesotho sporting ties are reaching new heights. In a social media post, Mr Mandaviya said that he held a productive bilateral meeting with the Sports Minister of Lesotho, Mputi Stephen Mputi at Glasgow, Scotland.
 
The Minister noted that during the meeting, both leaders discussed strengthening the sports partnership by sharing India’s expertise in sports science, coach training, physical education, and world-class sports infrastructure to support Lesotho’s athletes. Mr Mandaviya added that they also explored leveraging Lesotho’s high-altitude terrain to provide specialised training opportunities for Indian athletes.
 
Earlier, Mr Mandaviya met the President of Commonwealth Sport, Dr. Donald Rukare. In another social media post, the Union Minister expressed that there is a lot of excitement in the Commonwealth community for the centenary edition of the Commonwealth Games being hosted by India in 2030.
