New Delhi says, ongoing protests in PoJK due to Pak’s denial of fundamental rights to local population

India said the ongoing protests in PoJK are a direct consequence of Pakistan’s decades-long systemic exploitation and denial of fundamental rights to local population and administrative oppression in areas under its illegal and forcible occupation. During the media briefing, responding to a question on protests in PoJK, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs Mr Jaiswal said  New Delhi expects the international community to hold Pakistan fully accountable for these abuses and misdeeds. He pointed out that rather than addressing the legitimate grievances of the local populace, the Pakistani state has responded with extreme police brutality, and deploying lethal force against unarmed civilians that has resulted in tragic fatalities.
