India-China cross-border trade resumes through Shipki-La after six years

Cross-border trade between India and China has resumed through Shipki-La in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh after a gap of around six years. Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi today inaugurated the Chhupan Trade Mart at Namgya, a border panchayat in Pooh subdivision of Kinnaur district, and flagged off a group of 17 traders to commence cross-border trade. The trade had remained suspended since 2020 following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
