Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) has issued a Red Alert across all coastal districts in Keralam, warning residents and authorities of dangerous sea conditions caused by potential high waves and the unusual swell surge phenomenon. According to officials, the turbulent ocean behaviour poses severe risks to shoreline areas. Coastal communities have been advised to maintain extreme vigilance, avoid near-shore activities, and move to safer locations if instructed by local disaster management teams. In light of the hazardous marine conditions, authorities have imposed a complete ban on fishing activities across the state until tomorrow. Similar high-wave and ocean swell alerts have also been sounded for the coasts of Tamil Nadu, Kanyakumari, and the Lakshadweep coasts.
