The Secretary of Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretariat and Returning Officer today declared the BJP candidate Adhikarimayum Sarda Devi elected unopposed in the biennial Rajya Sabha elections in Manipur.
The BJP Manipur President reached Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretariat today and Returning Officer S. Rohit handed over her the certificate. She is the only candidate who filed nomination papers for the election of lone Rajya Sabha seat of Manipur.
It may be mentioned that the term of the current Rajya Sabha MP of Manipur- Leishemba Sanajaoba who represents the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ends on June 21.
