IMD says Southwest Monsoon covered entire country

 
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) today said that the Southwest Monsoon has covered the entire country. The IMD has issued a red alert for heavy to very heavy rain with isolated extremely heavy rainfall over Uttarakhand tomorrow. According to IMD, parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Uttar Pradesh will experience heavy to very heavy rainfall on Friday. Further, the weather agency has predicted heavy rainfall over Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, East Madhya Pradesh and Madhya Maharashtra over the next four days. Similar conditions will prevail over Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during the period. Also, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are expected to witness thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds during the next two days. 
Meanwhile, parts of Delhi-NCR witnessed light to moderate rain today. There has been no significant change in minimum temperature but there is a fall in maximum temperatures by one to three degree Celsius during the past 24 hours. The Met Department has issued a yellow alert for the National Capital for light to moderate rain tomorrow. The minimum and maximum temperature is likely to hover around 23 and 33 degree Celsius.
