India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed that conditions are favourable for southwest monsoon to further advance into the remaining parts of North Arabian Sea, Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab during next 2-3 days.
The Met Department forecast very heavy rainfall today over Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka, East Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa and South Interior Karnataka. Moderate to heavy rainfall is also expected during the day at places over Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and parts of North-east India. Thunder squalls are expected in Gujarat Region, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu Puducherry, Karaikal and Telangana.
IMD said that thunderstorms, gusty winds and lightning are likely to occur today over Andhra Pradesh, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Bihar, Odisha, West Bengaland Sikkim.
Meanwhile, several parts of the National Capital received rainfall this morning.
