The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange color warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall over Odisha during the next two to three days. Heavy rainfall is also likely to prevail over Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Uttarakhand and the northeastern parts of the country till tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, North Interior Karnataka, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are expected to witness thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds today. IMD has also forecast squally weather with wind speed gusting to 65 kilometres per hour likely to prevail off the south Tamil Nadu coast, south-west Bay of Bengal and a few parts of the Arabian Sea for the day.
