The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red colour warning for very heavy rainfall to extremely heavy rainfall over Chhattisgarh today. Heavy rainfall is also expected over Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Eastern Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Uttarakhand and parts of Northeast India for the day.

The Met Department also predicted a thunderstorm accompanied by lightning over Jammu-Kashmir, Haryana, Chandigarh, West Bengal, Karnataka and Telangana today. Similar conditions are expected over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and the Andaman and Nicobar islands. For Delhi, the Weather Agency has forecast a spell of light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning during the afternoon today.
