The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red colour warning for very heavy rainfall to extremely heavy rainfall over Chhattisgarh today. An orange colour warning for very heavy rainfall has also been issued for East Madhya Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Vidarbha for the day.

 

Heavy Rainfall is also expected over Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, and Gangetic West Bengal till tomorrow. IMD said that the line of withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon continues to pass through Gurdaspur, Chandigarh, Muzaffarnagar, Aligarh, Dholpur, Udaipur, Deesa, and Naliya. It added that the Deep Depression over south Odisha and adjoining south Chhattisgarh is likely to continue to move north-northwestwards and maintain its intensity of Depression during the next 12 hours and weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area during the subsequent 12 hours. 

 

The Met Department predicted that thunderstorms and lightening conditions will continue over Uttrakhand, Madhya Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Telangana till tomorrow. Similar weather conditions are also expected over Kerala, Mahe, parts of North East India and Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the next two days.
