The India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for rough sea conditions along the Keralam, Mahe, Lakshadweep and southern Tamil Nadu coasts from today until September 28 due to the swell surge phenomenon.

Waves measuring 1 to 1.5 metres are likely along the Keralam coast. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea for fishing, and small boats and fishing vessels should not be taken out to sea during this period. All beach-based activities, including tourism-related activities, should be completely avoided.
