India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red colour warning for very heavy rainfall to extremely heavy rainfall over Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha for the day. An orange alert for very heavy rainfall has been issued for Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh Jharkhand and Sikkim till tomorrow.

Heavy rainfall is also expected over Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh and parts of North East India till tomorrow.

The Met Department has predicted that thunderstorms and lightning conditions will continue over Bihar, Karnataka, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the next two days. Furthermore, the Weather Agency has forecast a spell of very light rainfall during evening in parts of Delhi today.
