The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange colour warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Odisha, East Madhya Pradesh till tomorrow.

 

The IMD forecast heavy rainfall conditions at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka, East Uttar Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Kerala, Mahe, central Maharashtra, and South Interior Karnataka for the next two to three days. Similar weather conditions are likely to prevail over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Telangana, Uttarakhand, Vidarbha and the North Eastern Region for the same period.

 

The Met department has predicted thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Interior Karnataka, Coastal Karnataka, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim until thursday.

 

Meanwhile, Delhi and its adjoining areas  witnessed heavy rainfall, bringing relief from the hot and humid weather.  Heavy downpour has also disrupted flight operations at Delhi Airport.  According to Delhi Airport official, 14 flights have been diverted, including 2 international flights. Passengers are advised to check with their airlines for the latest flight updates.
