IMD issues orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall over Northeast India & Sub-Himalayan West Bengal

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange-colour warning for Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall over parts of North East India and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal for tomorrow. Heavy rainfall is also expected over Bihar, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal tomorrow. IMD said that conditions are favourable for further advance of the southwest monsoon into some more parts of Telangana, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, and some parts of Chhattisgarh during the next 4 to 5 days.

The Met Department has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds over Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during the next two days. Similar weather conditions are expected over Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands tomorrow.

While heatwave conditions are expected over East Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Telangana, hot and humid weather conditions are expected over Gangetic West Bengal, Konkan, Goa and Odisha tomorrow. IMD said that a gradual rise in maximum temperatures over Central India by about two to three degrees Celsius is expected during the next three days.

For Delhi, IMD has predicted a partly cloudy sky tomorrow. According to the Weather Agency, the maximum temperature will be around 37 to 39 degrees Celsius in the national capital, while the minimum temperature will hover around 25 to 27 degrees Celsius tomorrow.
