The India Meteorological Department has issued an Orange Alert for Ernakulam and Thrissur Districts, predicting very heavy rainfall. An Yellow alert is active in Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Palakkad, Malappuram and Kozhikode for heavy rainfall, with thunderstorms likely across the State.
