IMD issues alert for very heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand during next twenty-four hours

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued Heavy to very heavy rainfall alert for Uttarakhand for the next twenty-four hours. The IMD said there is also a possibility of landslides and localized flooding in the state. The People have been advised to avoid areas prone to waterlogging.
 
The IMD has also issued an orange alert for several districts of Himachal Pradesh for the same period. According to the weather department, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to continue over Himachal Pradesh for the next 24 hours. As per the agency the heavy to very heavy rainfall will also continue over  Bihar, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim  Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura till today.
In its weather bulletin IMD said that the monsoon trough lies north of its normal position. IMD said, subdued rainfall activity is likely over the rest of the country during the next three days.
