IMD forecasts widespread rain and thunderstorms across several parts of country

India Meteorological Department has issued a red-coloured warning for extremely heavy rainfall over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim tomorrow. The met department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall over Assam and Meghalaya for next two days.
 
Meanwhile, heavy rainfall is expected over Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar, Odisha, Coastal Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Rayalaseema, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe till Tuesday.
 
The weather agency also forecast thunderstorms accompanied by hailstorms over Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow, whereas a thundersquall with wind is expected over Jharkhand and Odisha tomorrow.
 
According to IMD, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Konkan, Goa, Vidarbha, North Interior Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and Gangetic West Bengal are likely to experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds during next two to three days.
 
The Met Department has advised the fishermen to not venture into the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea till 25th of this month.
