The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that a wet spell is likely to continue over northwest India till tomorrow, with the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds and hailstorms.
According to the IMD, conditions are favourable for the further advance of the southwest monsoon into Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, parts of West Bengal, Bihar, some parts of Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh during the next two to three days.
The Met Department has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya during the next four days. Bihar, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim are expected to witness heavy rainfall tomorrow.
The weather agency has predicted thunderstorms and lightning over Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttarakhand for the next two days.
Meanwhile, strong surface winds are expected to prevail over coastal Karnataka and south interior Karnataka till Monday.
