India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast storms and rainfall across almost all districts of West Bengal today. An orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued for the five Himalayan districts of North Bengal, while a yellow alert for heavy rain is in place for North and South Dinajpur districts.

Meanwhile, South Bengal is also expected to experience storms and rain today, with a yellow alert for heavy rainfall issued for North and South 24 Parganas districts. Nadia, Birbhum, Murshidabad, and East and West Burdwan districts are likely to witness thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 km/h.
