The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the formation of a low-pressure area over the North Bay of Bengal in the next 12 hours, leading to extremely heavy rainfall expected in Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal tomorrow. The Weather Department said that heavy rainfall conditions are also likely to prevail over Karnataka, East Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Karaikal, Puducherry, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Kerala, Goa and Rajasthan for the day. Similar weather conditions are expected over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Madhya Maharashtra, Uttarakhand and North Eastern parts of India till 15th of this month. According to IMD, Andhra Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are expected to witness thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds during the next two days.
