India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall over Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today.

IMD said that conditions are likely to become favourable for further withdrawal of southwest monsoon from most parts of Marathwada and Vidarbha, and some more parts of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh during the next two days.

The Weather Agency predicted thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds over Uttarakhand, Telangana, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Lakshadweep for the day. Similar weather conditions are also expected over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura today.

Meanwhile, strong surface winds are expected over Andhra Pradesh till tomorrow.
