The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today. According to IMD, heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is expected over Kerala, Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema during the next 2-4 days. The weather agency has said that there will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over northern parts of the country. The temperature is likely to rise by 2-3 degree celsius over Central and South India during the next one week.
IMD further added that western parts of west central adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal, along and off south Andhra Pradesh coast can witness squally weather during the next 2 days. The weather office advised the fishermen not to venture into these areas.
