The two-day convocation ceremony of the Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Roorkee, began today at the institute. A total of 1,277 students were awarded degrees on the occasion. Meritorious students were also honoured with various medals.
National Security Advisor Ajit Kumar Doval and Chief of Defence Staff General N.S. Raja Subramani were present at the ceremony.
Addressing the students, Mr. Doval said the education and skills acquired at the Institute should be utilised for the larger interests of society and the nation.
