Education Ministry today said that 52 Indian institutions have featured in the QS World University Rankings 2027. IIT Delhi remains India’s highest-ranked institution at 118th globally, while IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay and IIT Madras are among the world’s Top 200 universities.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan expressed happiness that India’s global academic footprint continues to expand. He expressed pride at 52 Indian institutions featuring in the Rankings with 13 Indian universities securing a place among the Global Top 550. He added that this achievement reflects the growing strength of India’s higher education ecosystem and the commitment of institutions, faculty, researchers and students towards excellence.
He also stated that a robust and globally competitive higher education ecosystem is central to the government’s resolve to build a Viksit Bharat by 2047. He highlighted that, guided by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is steadily emerging as a global hub of knowledge and innovation.
