Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the National Film Awards will be hosted at top tourist destinations across the country.
Speaking to media after reaching Ahmedabad airport, Mr. Vaishnaw highlighted that hosting the ceremony at Ekta Nagar, home to the world-famous Statue of Unity in the presence of the President and prominent film personalities offers a major boost to global tourism awareness.
The Union Minister urged all state governments to submit proposals featuring their finest tourism locations. He added that the state with the winning proposal will host the next edition of the National Film Awards.
