Indian Air Force conducted a full dress rehearsal in Prayagraj today ahead of its 91st-anniversary celebration on October 8. A full dress rehearsal parade was organized at Central Air Command Headquarters Bamrauli and air show was organized at Sangam area, in the vicinity of the Ordnance Depot Fort in Prayagraj.
AIR Correspondent reports that during the rehearsal, ten sky para jumpers descended from an A-32 aircraft from a height of 8000 feet and filled the people with thrill and enthusiasm. After the spectacular performance of the Airmen, 6 battalions took part in the parade of Bisonko. For the first time, a battalion of women agniveers participated in the parade.
During air show rehearsal, fighter jets like SU-30, Rafale, and light combat aircraft Tejas, besides C-130J Super Hercules and the well-known team of Sarang, the helicopter air display team of the IAF left the viewers completely mesmerized. The aircraft were visible from Arail Ghat, Sangam, Jhunsi side of Sangam and Shastri bridge, where passersby and locals stopped to watch the scene.
The spokesperson of Prayagraj Region of the Defence Ministry, Group Captain Sameer Gangakhedkar informed that more than 100 fighters, transport aircraft and helicopters operating from 10 airbases will feature in the air display in the Sangam area of Prayagraj on October 8. The MiG-21 will participate in the air show for the last time. The district administration has made elaborate arrangements for routing of traffic and arrangements for the smooth conduct of the event. The aerial display is multidirectional and therefore it can be viewed from all sides of Sangam.
