Hurricane Beryl is expected to hit the Texas coast of the US, today, after it strengthened as a tropical storm, last night. US authorities have issued a set of warnings and guidelines for the closure of all major oil ports, flight cancellations and evacuations in beach towns.
The Hurricane weakened after its deadly trail of destruction across the Caribbean but strengthened as it crossed the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Beryl, the earliest category-5 hurricane of this season, swept through Jamaica, Grenada, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, last week, toppling buildings and killing at least 11 people.
