In the run-up to India’s 80th Independence Day, a Tiranga Yatra was taken out in Punjab as part of the nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. Led by BJP Punjab President Kewal Singh Dhillon in Ropar district last evening, hundreds of youths participated in the yatra, carrying the Tricolour in their hands and conveying the message of patriotism and national unity.
The Chandigarh Administration also organised a cultural programme as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga – 150 Years of Vande Mataram’ campaign. The administration has planned a number of Jan Bhagidari activities till August 17, including Tiranga rallies, Walkathon, Bike and Car Rally, Rangoli and Rakhi-making workshops, Tiranga Mela and Nukkad Nataks, besides cultural programmes and exhibitions in the city.
