The House-to-house verification under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has commenced across Meghalaya today.
1,021 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit households across all 1,021 polling stations in the district until July 29th and distribute pre-filled self-enumeration forms to voters whose names are already included in the 2025 electoral roll, informed East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal.
No documents are required at the initial stage, and electors only need to fill and return the self-enumeration forms. Additional documents will be sought only in cases requiring clarification, and voters will be given sufficient time to submit them.
The door-to-door survey will be followed by publication of the draft electoral roll on August 5th. Voters can file claims and objections from August 5th to September 4th.
