Union Minister Kiren Rijiju today said that hosting the Asia-level Fencing Championship in India is a huge achievement. He made these remarks while speaking to the media after attending the closing ceremony of the Asian Fencing Championship, which took place at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from the 19th of this month until today.

 

Mr Rijiju lauded the Indian Players for their performance and said that they played exceptionally well. He emphasised that fencing should be further promoted in the future, as it is a very interesting sport. The Minister noted that the sport’s popularity would grow rapidly once young people become familiar with it. He also noted the contribution of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for such a magnificent building has been built.
